   Mark Twain said: ''There only two forces that can carry light to all corners of the globe – the sun in the heavens and the Associated Press''. So during the lesson we'll talk about the press and Mass Media.

Today we will have unusual lesson because we will speak a lot about geography and will travel around the world with our map. Also we are going to speak about some countries of the world and have a lot of grammar rules. 

2.Do you like traveling?

-         What places have you visited already?

-         What countries would you like to visit? Look at the map and answer this 

Ok, I see you like traveling, so I would like to pay with you some geographical game.

-        You should look at the words below and decide what they are: capital cities, countries or continents. Although  nowadays  the  majority  of  people  prefer  to  learn  out  about  the

news  from  the  Internet  or  TV,  reading  is  still  an  important  leisure  activity  in

Britain and there is a very large number of books, newspapers and magazines

devoted to a wide variety of subjects. The biggest-selling magazines in Britain

(after TV guides which sell over 3 million copies a week) are women’s and pop

music publications.

The British Isles lie off the north-west coast of Europe. There are two main

islands — Great Britain and Ireland. There are also hundreds of smaller ones,

especially  off  the  coast  of  Scotland  in  the  north.  Northern  Ireland  is  on  the

same island with the country of Ireland, but it’s part of the United Kingdom.

The  United  Kingdom  has  lots  of  coastal  towns.  Rolling  plains  cover  much
